Haven is a quiet extension of St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines, Iowa, offering space for reflection, gathering, and solace. Woven into the site’s sacred context, it honors the cathedral’s presence while serving religious visitors seeking space to study, rest, and engage in retreat. Materiality, form, and scale simplify and harmonize with the existing site, respecting its sacred character.
