PAPERTOWN scores, folds, and reshapes the Paseo West community in Kansas City, MO, through equity, diversity, and social empowerment, turning residents into co-authors of their environment. Confronting the neighborhood’s history of systemic inequities and environmental neglect, the project envisions a new cycle of making, one where waste becomes a resource and creativity drives collective renewal.

A compost-to-paper system transforms organic waste into paper-based materials for construction and craft, fostering a circular economy rooted in self-sufficiency and shared stewardship.
